Mindfulness Based Living Course (MBLC)

In mindfulness one is not only restful and happy, but alert and awake."  Thich Nhat Hanh

The Mindfulness Based Living Course (MBLC) is a weekly mindfulness course based on the  highly respected Mindfulness Association’s Mindfulness Training. Each week offers a two hour long class, preceded by an introductory class before the eight week course begins and concluded by a follow up class afterwards to see how you are getting on with your independant practice. The course therefore consists of 10 classes.

Themes explored are:

  • Introductory session – What is mindfulness and why practice It?
  • Starting where we are
  • The body as a place to stay present
  • Introducing mindfulness support
  • Working with distraction
  • Exploring the undercurrent
  • Attitude of the observer
  • Self-acceptance
  • A mindfulness based life
  • Follow up session - The rest of your life

The MBLC is recognised as a weekly course in the UK Good Practice Guidelines. This comprehensive course is also the first stage in the teacher training run by the Mindfulness Association, for participants who wish to learn how to teach the MBLC. Those trained to teach the MBLC are eligible to join the UK Listing of Mindfulness Teachers.
