“Three things in human life are important: the first is to be kind; the second is to be kind; and the third is to be kind.” Henry James
Continuing to feed my love of learning and working with health and well-being, I trained as a Reiki and Emotional Freedom Technique practitioner and Yoga Teacher for both children and then adults. My Zen Yoga training for adults in yoga with dynamic mindfulness emphasised meditation and Buddhism. My interest in mindfulness and Buddhism began in Sheffield in the 1990's and I've practiced meditation, sometimes more, sometimes less, ever since. I have since studied mindfulness further, attended several meditation courses and am a regular attendee in day events and longer retreats in various centres including the Buddhist Manjushri Kadampa Meditation Centre in Ulverston. I completed a teacher training course on Mindful Meditation and incorporate mindfulness into all of my treatments and courses.
I still enjoy deepening my understanding of shiatsu, energy medicine, Chi Gong and Traditional Chinese Medicine and continue to practice mindfulness and study Buddhism. I meet regularly with other shiatsu practitioners for peer support and continual professional development, assist teaching of shiatsu students during their practitioner training and attend a weekly yoga class and regular yoga and meditation workshops.

I know I'm very lucky to find pleasure in my work. I find the people it connects me with fascinating and genuinely enjoy meeting and working with each of them. We can learn something from every single person we meet and believe that we should find out what that is before we move on.
My body reminds me to move and stretch every day to ease aches and pains and keep well and positive. I try to remember to practice mindfulness in daily life, also making time for more formal meditation and know this is often not easy! However, the benefits of mindful movement and calm stillness keep motivating me to carry on. I adore my husband and 3 kids; and love our cats, the countryside, fell walking, sunshine, nature, reading, music, dancing, laughing, singing, food, Sauvignon Blanc and G &T!
